Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
