The One-Punch Man Series Its Third Season Is Moving Forward (In 2027)
Truly the most surprising piece of news, the much-discussed troubled production that was season 3 of One-Punch Man failed to halt further production. The show will return with a follow-up batch of episodes in 2027—such a distant date they could have dubbed it season 4. More surprisingly, the studio J.C. Staff will remain at the helm. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the outset, which might be a hopeful indicator. But, the promotional image for the new episodes is a mirror of the one used for season 3, just with characters Saitama and Garou facing different directions. This leads one to believe that, at this point, they are probably trolling the fans.
The Ruri Dragon Series Is Poised to Be the Premiere Shonen Jump Anime From Kyoto Animation
Kyoto Animation has established a standing for being an elite animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the exceptional quality of its work but for the fair treatment of its employees—a uncommon practice in the industry. Curiously, until now, it had never worked on an anime stemming from a manga serialized in Shonen Jump, perhaps the best-known magazine in the business. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a excellent choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo achieved a huge following when it debuted in 2022 after just a few chapters, but then went into a lengthy break due to the mangaka's health issues. When it came back with a lighter schedule, the series demonstrated it still retained the fans' appreciation and positive sentiment, and now fans are ecstatic about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation.
The Kingdom Series Its Sixth Season Will Get a Sequel Now in the Works
Kingdom is the best-selling, epic Shueisha manga that is aside from One Piece. If you've never heard of it before, it's because it only just received an English localization, but the anime has been running for some time, and season 6 was yet another excellent entry. As it happens that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been announced as in production, and it will almost certainly debut in 2026.
Science Saru Is Bringing A Witch in Mongolia To Anime
A further studio famous for the superior craftsmanship of its work, Science Saru has given us hit shows of the quality of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, which is based on the true story of Fatima, an influential woman and intellectual in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Judging from the trailer, the anime named Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and captivating visual style, which reminds me a bit of Ranking of Kings. Set to premiere in July 2026, this one will absolutely be on my list of anticipated shows.
Tougen Anki Will Continue With a Second Season
Shortly after the release of its twenty-fourth episode, it was confirmed that Tougen Anki will be receiving a second season. Adapted from the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki brings to life the manga by Yura Urushibara. The new season of the anime will delve into the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a firm air date has not been disclosed yet.
